Quote of the day from my most hilariously quotable friend, "well...should I shower first?". Clearly a rhetorical question, as the Saturday sloth-like addiction to morning RH scones and late afternoon Chai curry negated the need to come off a presentable humans for the day. I spent the intermission with a naively ambitious plan to create order in my room, which naturally went the way of creating more mess as I turned my bed into a cut out collage zone.
Rented The Vicious Kind post Pad See Ew, consensus: watch this film. The words 'dark comedy/sexual drama' pretty much had me sold, and the dreamy soundtrack to some early 90's indie nostalgia and dark intensity unfolding on my macbook made my evening. The bizarre thing was that after downloading the entire sountrack and imdb-ing the cast (Adam Scott, from the lustfully short lived Tell Me You Love me days), I checked out the trailer which was confusingly ill-suited and seemed to be for a entirely different movie, more of a poorly done quirky, whimsical and commercial film. When the trailer moments play out in the flim, they don't seem nearly that cliche or weakly ironic, - don't watch the trailer. I'm pretty sure Omar snuck this album onto my ipod while laying low in a Bangkok hostel a few years ago, but I love it when songs connect with you at different times due to hearing them in an unexpected and new context.
